Dimplex Revillusion Weathered Concrete 36 Electric Insert (500005134)

The fire you can run 365 days a year—no gas line, no chimney. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–450 sq ft • Viewing Area: 36″ wide fire • Fuel: Electric. • Controls: Remote with adjustable flame color and brightness, plus built-in touch controls. • Fan: Included Who It’s For There’s a spot in the house that should have a fire in it—an opening that sits cold, or a wall that’s waiting—but wood is a hassle and gas isn’t in the cards. You need a fire that turns on with a remote, any evening of the year, heat optional . If that’s you, the Dimplex Revillusion 36 in Weathered Concrete is the one. Most electric fires put a flame on a flat panel; this one reads as a full-depth fireplace —flames in front, textured concrete behind. What Makes It Special What makes most electric fires look fake is the panel behind them. The Revillusion puts its patented flame effect on a partially frosted acrylic panel, so you see clearly through the fire to the weathered-concrete back wall—the flames appear to rise from within the logs, the way they do in a masonry fireplace . The logs are Realogs, handcrafted from real wood , with inner LED lights that pulse like a bed of live embers. The remote sets the flame’s color and brightness, so it can glow low for a July evening—flames only, no heat—or burn bright in January. And it’s a heater, not just a picture: the fan-forced heater warms up to 1,000 square feet —enough to hold the room your family lives in comfortable while the furnace idles at a lower setting. Possible Downsides • Full heat output requires 240-volt direct wiring by an electrician; plugged into a standard outlet, it heats at a lower output. • Weathered Concrete is the only interior on this unit ; for a different look, see the Herringbone, Neutral Brick, or Black versions. If you want a fire that looks real without a gas line or a chimney, the Revillusion 36 in Weathered Concrete is the right decision. The spot that sat cold becomes the room everyone ends up in. The Revillusion line comes in four interior finishes—Weathered Concrete, Herringbone, Neutral Brick, and Black—and in 24″, 30″, 36″, 36″ portrait, and 42″ sizes, so the same fire fits the space you have.
