Dimplex Nova Series 33 Electric Insert

A working fire the same day it comes out of the box. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft • Fuel: Electric—plugs into a standard outlet. • Controls: Multi-function remote, plus hidden built-in controls for heat, thermostat, brightness, and flame theme. • Fan: Included Who It’s For There’s a fireplace opening in the room—or a wall where one should be—and no gas line, no chimney worth trusting, and no appetite for a construction project. You need a fire that arrives working, not a renovation. If you want flames tonight and warmth on demand , this is your kind of unit: it slides into an existing fireplace or builds into a new surround, and it runs off a plug. Choose a gas or wood unit instead and you get more heat, but you also get a crew in the house; the Nova 33 is the one that’s done the day it arrives. What Makes It Special The flames and the heat are separate decisions. Run the fire 365 days a year with the heater off—a July evening gets the same fire as a January one—and adjust the flame speed, brightness, and firebox hues until it matches the mood of the room, not just the temperature. When you do want warmth, the fan-forced heater delivers it on demand for up to 1,000 square feet , and a built-in timer shuts things down on schedule. All of it works from the couch: the remote handles the fire, the heat, and the light without you leaving your seat. Possible Downsides • Everything needs electricity —in a power outage there is no flame and no heat. • The acrylic crystal ember bed is the standard look ; a log-style fire means adding an optional faux-wood log set. • It warms the room it’s in —this is a zone heater and an accent, not a replacement for the furnace. If you want a real-looking fire without a gas line, a chimney, or a remodel, the Nova 33 is the right decision. The opening that sat dark becomes the room everyone ends up in. The Nova 33 takes a range of ember beds—Tumbled Glass, River Rocks, Black Rocks, and Acrylic Crystals—plus Driftwood and Beach Driftwood faux-wood log sets, so the fire can match the room it lives in.
