Dimplex Vital Spark 33 Electric Fireplace

A real fire’s glow from a standard outlet—365 nights a year. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft • Viewing Area: A 33″ wide fire behind edge-to-edge glass. • Fuel: Electric. • Controls: Remote, hidden touch controls, or the Glen Dimplex Connect app; built-in timer up to 8 hours. • Fan: Included Who It’s For The rooms you’d most like a fire in—the bedroom, the basement, the den—are usually the ones a chimney or gas line never reached, so the fireplace stays a someday project. You need a fire that runs on the wiring your house already has . If you want convincing flames any evening you choose, with heat as an option rather than a requirement, the Dimplex Vital Spark 33 is that fire: it plugs into a standard outlet or hardwires in, and the flames run 365 days a year, heat on or off. What Makes It Special The fire itself is the draw. Molded logs sit over a flickering multi-color ember bed, and the LED flames run in 13 colors, three brightness levels, and three speeds —a classic orange fire one night, something moodier the next. Because the flames work with or without heat, it earns its keep in July as well as January. When you do want warmth, the fan-forced heater delivers on-demand heat for up to 1,000 square feet —enough to take the chill off the room you’re sitting in without touching the thermostat. Press one button on the remote and a crackling-fire soundtrack plays along with the flames. Run it from the included remote, the hidden touch controls on the unit, or the Glen Dimplex Connect app on your phone, and let the built-in timer shut it off up to eight hours later—after you’ve already fallen asleep. Possible Downsides • Electric Only: No flames and no heat during a power outage. • 1,500 watts of heat —about what a plug-in space heater delivers—so treat it as one-room warmth, not a furnace replacement. • One-year limited warranty on electrical components. If you want a fire in a room where a chimney or gas line was never an option, the Vital Spark 33 is the right decision. The room it’s in becomes the room the house lives in—July evenings included. The look is adjustable nightly: 13 flame colors, three brightness levels, three flame speeds, and a color-changing ember bed with multiple media themes.
