Dimplex Vital Sense 74 Electric Fireplace

Over six feet of flame, with or without the heat. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft • Viewing Area: 70-7/8″ wide • Fuel: Electric. • Controls: Hidden touch panel and remote included; Glen Dimplex Connect app; timer up to 8 hours. • Fan: Included Who It’s For A wood or gas fire earns its keep a few months a year and sits dark the rest. You need a fire you can run every evening of the year , heat or no heat. If you want a fire wide enough to carry a whole wall—movie nights in January, dinner parties in July—the Dimplex Vital Sense 74 is the one. Choose a fuel-burning fireplace instead and you’ll think twice about lighting it from April to October. What Makes It Special Most fireplaces give you one fire. This one gives you 13 flame colors, seven ember-bed themes, three flame speeds, and three brightness settings —a slow amber fire for a quiet night, something cooler and brighter when the house is full. Dial it in from the couch with the remote, from the hidden touch panel, or from your phone with the Glen Dimplex Connect app. The heat is a choice, not a package deal. Run the flames alone on a June evening for pennies a night , or switch on the heater and it warms up to 1,000 square feet —enough to hold the room your family actually lives in while the furnace rests. Set the built-in timer and it shuts itself off up to eight hours later. Possible Downsides • Tumbled glass is the only included media bed; log sets are optional add-ons, not in the box. • Everything runs on household power, so flames and heat both stop during an outage. If you want a fire that runs every evening of the year, not just the cold ones, the Vital Sense 74 is the right decision. The wall you used to leave blank becomes the room everyone ends up in—in July as much as January. Beyond the standard tumbled glass, the Vital Sense 74 takes four optional faux wood log sets—Split Logs, Thin Split Logs, Driftwood, and Beach Driftwood—so the fire can lean modern or traditional.
