Dimplex Optimyst RGB Pro Box 60 Electric Fireplace

The most convincing flame that isn’t fire. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft • Viewing Area: 61-1/4″ wide fire • Fuel: Electric; the flame runs on water and LED light. • Controls: Onboard controls and remote for flame, color, heat, and sound; full-spectrum color through the Flame Connect app. • Fan: Included (fan-forced heater). Who It’s For Every electric fireplace promises a realistic flame, and most deliver a flat picture behind glass—convincing from across the room, less so from the couch. You need a flame with real depth , one that rises and drifts in three dimensions. If you want the presence of a real fire in a space where burning one isn’t practical—a bedroom, a restaurant, a high-rise—this is the one to look at. Choose a standard flame-on-a-screen electric and you’ll always know it’s an appliance; choose the Optimyst RGB Pro Box 60 and people will ask whether it’s real. What Makes It Special The flame isn’t an image. Optimyst creates it from an ultra-fine water mist lit by LEDs, so it curls and drifts in true three dimensions—flame and smoke included . It burns nothing and stays cool to the touch, which is why it works in homes and commercial spaces where a gas or wood fire never could. The RGB cassettes come pre-installed, so out of the box you can set the fire to any of five flame colors—or any color at all through the Flame Connect app. The remote adjusts flame, color, heat, and sound from the couch, and included spacers let you shape the width and pattern of the fire itself. It’s also built to run all day. Connected to a water line, the mist supply is continuous—no reservoir to refill —and an overflow sensor shuts the water off automatically to prevent leaks. Possible Downsides • The heater is supplemental , sized for the room it’s in—up to 400 square feet—not for the whole floor. • The ember bed tray comes empty ; tumbled glass, river rock, and crystal media are sold separately. • Moving air disturbs the flame. Like a candle, it needs a spot away from ceiling fans, vents, and strong drafts. If you want the drama of a real fire in a space where burning one isn’t an option, the Optimyst RGB Pro Box 60 is the right decision. The room it sits in becomes the one everyone ends up in. Choose your own ember bed—tumbled glass, large or small river rocks, black rocks, or acrylic crystals—and add a plug kit or a rear glass pane that converts the fireplace to a see-through design.
