Dimplex Nova Series 26 Electric Fireplace

A real-looking fire in a room that was never built for one. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft • Fuel: Electric—plugs into a standard household outlet. • Controls: Multi-function remote, plus hidden built-in controls with thermostat, timer, brightness, and flame themes. • Fan: Included Who It’s For There’s a fireplace opening that sits dark, or a room where a fire belongs, and running gas or rebuilding a chimney is more project than you want. You need a fire that needs nothing more than a standard outlet . If you want flames this week—not after permits and trades—the Nova 26 is the one. Choose a fuel-burning unit instead and the fire arrives at the end of a construction project; choose this one and it arrives when you plug it in . What Makes It Special The fire itself is adjustable end to end. From the remote you can change flame speed, brightness, and firebox color , so the same unit reads as a low glow on a quiet evening or a lively fire when the room is full. The flames and the heat are separate decisions. Run the fire 365 days a year with the heater off , then switch on the fan-forced heater when the room needs it—warming the space your family actually sits in while the furnace holds the baseline for the rest of the house. It’s also built to go where you want it: retrofit into an existing fireplace or build a custom surround or mantel around it, with no gas line and no chimney work in either case. Possible Downsides • Supplemental heat, not a furnace —plan on it warming the room it’s in, with your central heat carrying the rest of the house. • Acrylic crystals are the included ember bed ; log sets, tumbled glass, and rock beds are optional add-ons. • The heater is fan-forced , so warm air comes with some fan sound while the heat is running. If you want a fire in the room this winter without a construction project, the Nova 26 is the right decision. The opening that sat dark becomes the room everyone ends up in. The Nova 26 takes optional ember beds—tumbled glass, river rocks, black rocks, and acrylic crystals—plus driftwood and beach driftwood log sets, so the fire can match the room you already have.
