Dimplex Ignite Quest 36 Electric Fireplace

The depth of a traditional fire, the lines of a modern one—every night of the year. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft approx. 1,000 sq ft, as supplemental heat • Viewing Area: 36″ wide fire • Fuel: Electric. • Controls: App, wall-mountable remote, or 3-button touch panel; built-in timer up to 8 hours. • Fan: Included (the heater is fan-forced). Who It’s For You want a fire in a room that has no chimney and no gas line—or you want flames on a July evening without cooking anyone off the couch. You need a fireplace that runs year-round, heat or no heat . If you’re framing a new wall or remodeling one and want a fire that reads as burning logs rather than a ribbon of light, the Ignite Quest 36 is the one. Choose a heat-only unit instead and it sits dark for most of the year. What Makes It Special Most electric fireplaces make you pick: the boxy look of a traditional hearth or the wide, shallow look of a linear. The Quest is a first-of-its-kind hybrid —a deep, log-filled firebox inside clean linear proportions, so it fits a modern wall without giving up the fire people actually gather around. The fire itself is Dimplex’s Multi-Fire flame effect over a set of loose, moveable logs with a rhythmic glow, a pulsating ember bed, and a crackle you turn on from the remote— the charm of a wood fire without the mess . Different flame themes change the mood from the app, the heat runs only when you ask for it, and the glass stays cool to the touch, so kids and pets can share the room with it. Possible Downsides • The heat is supplemental —sized for one large living area, not a whole floor; if you need a primary heat source, this isn’t it. • Corner and bay installations require a trim kit , sold separately; front-facing installs need nothing extra. • One crackling sound is built in on the remote; the additional sound options require the app. If you want a fire you can run in January and July alike, the Ignite Quest 36 is the right decision. The room it’s in becomes the room the house lives in. The Quest installs front-facing or, with the Left/Right Bay Trim Kit, as a corner or bay, and its flame themes, colors, and sounds all adjust from the remote or the Flame Connect app.
